A new year has marked a wonderful new start for us here at Inkwell, with some exciting new products and some returning favourites. Without further do, lets get into it!
|

|
What's been happening?
|
|
|
|
We were busy at work with a big restock of brand new books at the start of January, so we were ready to open our doors for 2026 with a delightful bookshelf of goodies. The cold weather didn't stop us one bit, and we were open come rain, shine, or snow, making sure our lovely customers could get their hands on books, stationery, and our other gift-y things.
|
On the non-book side of things, we added brand new coasters, tea towels, and some new reading journal designs, which have been (rightfully) great hits with our customers.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
There are still plenty available if you're looking to add a bit of literary character to your kitchen or coffe table, or need a nice simple way to track your reading goals for the year. We also have some new stationery on the way; read on to find out more about that!
|
|
Our website is also well underway, with the first chunk of new books added over the last few weeks, available to buy for home delivery or a free click and collect from the Butter Market. This selection will only grow, so keep an eye on the website for convenient book shopping any day of the week.
|
|
I'd also like to take this opportunity to remind you that we offer an ordering-in service for any books that you want to get your hands on, just get in touch or come into the shop on our opening days and we can see what we can do for you! This service has already been enjoyed by a number of our incredible regular customers, and it's really lovely to see familiar faces to chat all things bookish with.
|
|
I've been overwhelmed once again by the support and community in the Leek Butter Market in the cold January days, including when one returning customer dropped off a poem they had written for me to keep when they came in to pick up an order. I couldn't ask for a better first two months.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Two Inkwell favourites have retained their titles as our bestsellers this month, and I couldn't be more delighted with who has kept the crown firmly on their heads.

The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue
by V.E. Schwab.
Again, a slight bias here towards one of my favourite books I've ever read, but The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue is a wonderful story of love, life, and immortality, blending history with modernity, and a good hint of fantasy while we're at it.

What's to come?
|
|
|
- New stationery is on the way, including some wonderful writing sets that I have included some images of below as a sneak peek for our newsletter readers. Alongside these, expect some new notebooks with equally lovely designs featuring wildlife and art.
- Gift cards will be available soon, perfect for birthdays early in the year, or perhaps Mother's Day. It is likely that these will (for now) only be redeemable in store, but on any product from our tea towels to a brand new novel.
- As of hopefully this week, I will be beginning to stock some self-published local authors, starting with Richard Thurstan's The Perils of a Loss Adjuster, a lighthearted and humorous lookback at the author's time as a loss adjuster for an insurance company, during which I found out such important things as what exactly is a loss adjuster. It's a fun, quick read, and I can't wait to get it on the shelves. If you'd like to get involved in stocking your own published work in the shop, get in touch!
