October is, rather shamelessly, my favourite month. I love that cold snap you get a few days in, the world starts to slow down, things get a little spookier, and the trees start looking like fire. Oh, and it's my birthday in there at some point. What's not to love? It's been another great month for us at Inkwell, and I can't wait to dive into it with you.

What's been happening?
|
|
|
At the risk of sounding like an old record, I've been at work listing more and more second-hand goodies on Vinted, and all second-hand book stock I've been receiving over the month has been making its way onto the website. I made the decision to keep the second-hand book stock on Vinted at a pause for now, as clothes and other second hand bits and pieces sell miles better than books over there. Our website is now the place to go for second-hand books. I'm quite proud of the range of books we've gathered over there, and I genuinely believe the collection is shaping up to have something for everyone in there! It may take me forever to type out the descriptions and blurbs, but I love making sure that each listing is nice and informative.

Most excitingly, I can reveal to my lovely newsletter readers that I am in the process of acquring a physical startup location in an indoor market. All going well, I should be able to have a physical shop presence before the end of November. I cannot wait to get started, as this is a huge step on the way to one day opening up our own shop. Typically this happened right after getting flyers printed, so I suppose it's time to get the nice writing back out and deface them. I'll be the first to admit that this has ended up taking up a lot of my time and energy, so some other things have been pushed back in terms of priority, but I'll be right back on it before you know it.

And my side missions for this month:
|
- IKEA's 3D room planner hates to see me coming. I've been clicking away at designing the layout for the new indoor market unit, and once that lease goes through I'm going to have the best time of my life buying everything to make it all lovely.
- On the slightly more boring admin-y side, I've been slowly piecing together a (rather extensive) business plan. Apparently these things are important to have.

What's to come?

|
|
|
- Unsurprisingly, I have some great things to be going on Vinted soon. I love getting great clothes back out into the world and finding a new home for things, it's just great! I also have more second hand books than I know what to do with, and I really can't wait to have a permanent place for them.
- Last month I said that I'd be putting in my first order of new books soon, and this is now just around the corner! I've been trawling through suppliers and my list is so close to being ready. I have to remind myself to be realistic at this stage and accept that I can't stock everything I've ever wanted in the world all at once right now. That being said, it's going to be very exciting and our first drop of new books will hopefully coincide with a grand opening of a physical shop. Crazy times!
