September 2025

Just like that, September is over. Things have stayed steady here at Inkwell, with ever more foundation work being put in to get everything ready for more launches, and a few big milestones too!

What's been happening?

I've been steadily uploading more second-hand goodies to our online platforms, focusing mainly on Vinted to get some of those lovely second-hand clothes back out into the world. It's been steady work and gradually picking up over the course of the month which is really appreciated. It's also been very nice to see things that haven't been worn much or been out of a wardrobe in a while get back into someone's hands who can give them a new lease of life.

Alongside clothes, I've also been posting the first drop of our second-hand books, very fun stuff! They have been split across two platforms: my good friend Vinted, and, very excitingly, our website. So now our website is officially open for business, available to order through, and all that coding finally feels worth it. There is currently a small but broad selection on both platforms, and the ones found on Vinted at the moment will eventually be migrated across to the website.

Admittedly, our eBay page hasn't had much new added this month, but it has not been forgotten! New items will be listed over there soon.

And a few random side missions have been ongoing for the business this month:
  • My postcode tracker map is gradually filling in, and I now have shipped orders to 24 different postcodes! Seeing where in the UK my orders end up is really quite fun, and my highlighter is always at the ready when dropping off parcels.
  • I've been having fun designing a few bits of promotional material, and slowly realised I very much need to up my graphic design game.
  • A new TikTok account is in the works...

What's to come?

  1. We are constantly on the hunt for more second-hand books, and now everything is up and running they will be posted as and when we get them. This does take some time, as I'm working hard on fairly condition grading each book and creating informative listings for each individual copy so that customers can make informed decisions before purchasing. With this comes a lot of trial and error, and adjustments of pricing to balance fairness and also overcome the various costs and fees that come with online selling. Though my condition grades and standard pricings are set for now, these are likely to change as we learn more about the joys of having an online shop.
  2. I mentioned it last time, but our first in person bookselling event looms ever closer! Inkwell will be attending the Sandy Lane Centre Christmas Fayre on Sunday 7th December in Brown Edge (ST6 area), from 11am-2pm. We will be bringing along a delightful mix of new and second-hand books, with potentially some other fun surprises to go with them.
  3. I'll be putting in my first order of new books from our suppliers soon! Most of it will be kept aside for my Christmas event, but some will be available on the website before too long.

Until next time

Everything happening right now at Inkwell is a learning curve, and I'd like to thank you so much for sticking with me and watching us grow.
Thanks for reading. See you soon!
